Services offered through the Community Wellness
Program include:
- Health and Wellness Presentations and Educational
Materials - providing a Speakers Bureau and educational materials on a variety of
health and wellness topics for community service and civic organizations,
churches, schools, and businesses
- Disease Management Presentations and Educational
Materials - providing speakers and educational materials on specific diseases
to promote management of disease and improved quality of life for community
service and civic organizations, churches, schools, and businesses
- Health and Wellness Message - a monthly publication is available for
businesses and individuals focusing on health promotion and disease management
- Health and Wellness Expo - an annual event offering free health screenings and
a wide variety of health promotion services to the community
- Worksite Wellness
- offers consultation to employers so as to assist them in determining the
health promotion needs of their work force. This can involve meeting with the
employer’s wellness committees or meeting with top management. The goal is to
develop a plan of action utilizing services available through Community
Wellness and other entities within The Medical Center
- Health Fairs - coordination of, and participation in,
selective health fairs for businesses, schools, and service organizations (a
cost for this may be applied depending on the services requested)
- Babysitting Clinics - a popular annual summer event for
the community providing education on responsible babysitting
- Stop Smoking Classes - certified staff
provides stop-smoking classes to the community and businesses throughout the
year
- Physician Referral Service - a resource for the
community to assist individuals in locating a physician
